Ok guys, I'll share my wisdom with you. The problem is that the command in the vista patch is wrong because whole path to the mktv2.sdb file has to be specified.
The correct command has to look like this: sdbinst c:\games\mktv2.sdb
So just change it in the .bat file to the path where your .sdb file is... that's all.

2. Open command prompt window (START > cmd)
3. Type sdbinst c:\windows\apppatch\mktv2.sdb and press ENTER (*no message or error should appear if it worked)
4. Start the game.

MY PROBLEMS:

1. I mount the music files (poweriso or Ultraiso) but there is no BGM, only sound effect/voices. How does the game recognise the drive given it's an unpack-and-play file, not an install? Do I need to rename the file or something?
2. Cannot get game window (windowed or full screen) to something reasonable on my 1920x1080 monitor, only really small or about 1/4 of monitor size. Is there a config. file where I can play around with the resolution setting?
Any fixes for these issues?

excellent torrent i can confirm it works 100% on Windows7 64bit, and using a usb 360 controller
Tho i noticed that there doesn't seem to be anything mapped to the Start button? as i cant continue when i lose :\ and i noticed my opponents could run/sprint were as i cannot? otherwise it works 100%

It took me a few tries but I got it working fine. This helps sort out the character selection crash issue. Kudos to Knocks! Sadly, I cant get the music up since my optical drive is an "unrecognized device." Too bad.

1. Extract Mortal Kombat Trilogy.rar to any place you want..
2. Run Vista patch.bat
3. Copy mktv2.sdb (from same folder as vista patch) TO -> C:/Windows/AppPatch
4. Hit start menu and type CMD, RIGHTCLICK IT AND "RUN AS ADMINSTRATOR"
5. Type sdbinst c:/windows/apppatch/mktv2.sdb and press ENTER (*no message or error should appear if it worked)---> FOR ME IT SAID "MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY SUCCESFULLY INSTALLED"
5b. (If you wonder like I do.. yes there reads "C:/WINDOWS/system32>" In cmd, just put
sdbinst c:/windows/apppatch/mktv2.sdb after it... TO MAKE SURE ITS THE RIGHT TEXT, COPY THE
sdbinst c:/windows/apppatch/mktv2.sdb FROM HERE AND RIGHTCLICK ON CMD AND CLICK PASTE... so u dont need to type it urself and miss something.
6. YOU CAN PLAY NOW! (MKTRILW) IS THE GAME LAUNCH. U FIND IT WHERE U EXTRACTED THE MORTAL KOMBAT.RAR
(if the game cries about compatibility or anything, just hit run and ok etc.. WORKS FINE)
7. The game works but you dont have musics on it, all other sounds tho.
As for the music part:
To enable CDDA music, extract original disc.rar and mount the ISO with Daemon Tools Lite. You have to mount the ISO to the first assigned optical drive letter (i.e. if your DVD drive is D, you have to remap it to E and make your virtual drive D).
